One of 3 sharknose 6 series. Not a fan of stance, but I did like how this one looked.
The new Mercedes Benz Maybach S600. Dear lord the amount of luxury in this vehicle is difficult to comprehend. Biturbo V12 from the SL65 AMG stuffed in there, paired with the new 7 speed automatic. Brought by a guy who works for Benz. Learned me a fun fact. The last manual trans Benz were actually the SLKs, up to just a couple years ago, but they got discontinued just because of a lack of demand.
6 cyl E-Type. Once in a very rare while, a V12 does show up, but it's not often.
New Gulf R. Didn't grab much attention, but myself and several other people were glued to it. Now just put this drivetrain into a Golf Sportwagen and we'll be talking.
This gorgeous Grand National, the "V8 Hunter."
An old California car, a Z Racecar. Only minor frame rail rust on it, otherwise super good looking. Was used as a racecar for a long time, so it's not just stickered up to look good, it is very sweet.
Sorry for not including more. I got caught up talking to people again more than snapping photos (not always a bad thing), but there was a Unimog, 560SEL, Isetta 300 (same red one), a couple C63 AMGs, many "regular" Porsche 911s, the new CTS-V again, an F-Type coupe, a black Challenger Hellcat, several Ferraris, an NSX, a new convertible Z06, as well as a new 500 Abarth (I know the owner super well, and his collection is so insane I can't even talk about it).

also... i feel there was a long period there in the 80s-90s when mercedes didn't import any manual transmission cars. i didn't even think the slk was available with a manual.

The SLKs had to be custom ordered, few were.
As for theE24s, not many pics. Ill see them again and get more photos at a later date.

You can actually still order the SLK250 with a manual transmission, but it must be custom ordered. Also, the Maybach has the engine from the S600, which is a lower tune version of the V12 in the S65 and SL65. Did a dealer bring the Maybach? I was under the impression it wasn't released until mid April.

I was told that the manual transmissions are totally discontinued. The Maybach is the S600, and yes, was brought by a dealer, the guy I was talking to worked on the launch of a couple of cars. The one that was brought has 600 miles on it and was a well optioned car. I was also told that the car had several updates to the engine for reliability and extra performance, including but not limited to the coil packs, which were a weakness to the motor.

Interesting. I have heard of coil pack issues on the v12. And you still can order a manual slk last I checked, about a month ago. Should still be an option on the Mercedes configurator.
